Cuddling

It seems that the weather turned over night from fall to winter. There is a biting cold in the air that didn’t seem to bite so hard just a day ago. Welcome December!

I sleep with my two boy cats, Wally and Atticus. Sleeping with them in the Fall and Winter is the best, as they seem to desire extra cuddles. This morning was particularly sweet as Atticus curled up pressing into the outside of my left thigh and Wally nuzzled his body in my curved arm, resting his head on my heart space. These boys mean so much to me.

After having Wally for just a few months, I remember crying about something. I felt sad. He came over to me and extended a paw. This cat has witnessed some painful moments and joyous moments, too. Atticus joined nearly two years later. Since then, we have lived in maybe seven apartments. I have fallen in and out of love with a few boyfriends. Switched jobs once. Became a yoga teacher. Studied yoga therapy. Earned a Masters of Science in Kinesiology and occasionally teach yoga classes or take on a private student. These boys are aging before my eyes and helping me see how quickly time passes.

Time is precious. Do not squander your life.
